Food Safety

McCartney Produce is committed to the highest quality standards as we serve our customers and our community. In 1998 we initiated our own HAACP program and submitted to a third party inspection by NSF Cook & Thurber. As part of the certification process we renovated our facility and implemented Recall, Quality Assurance, Repackaging and Standard Sanitation and Operation Procedures (SSOP).

Today we are constantly fine-tuning and verifying our ability to recover products in case of an emergency. This includes running mock recalls twice each year. Our last audit placed McCartney Produce in the top 3% of the nation.

We believe in cold chain security from the field to our customer:

  • The moment produce arrives it is inspected and stored in climate-controlled areas specifically designed for the unique temperature, humidity and ethylene-level requirements of each item.
  • When products leave our facility they do so in trucks continuously monitored for the temperature of the load.
